about this Lab.

Graduate Program in Lifelong Education at Osaka University Graduate School of Human Sciences address the issues of inequality, prejudice and discrimination in our society. These issues are examined from educational perspectives including formal/non-formal education and informal learning. Our research on Japanese and international education is deeply rooted in a commitment towards the establishment of a society with a strong respect for citizenship, one that is democratic, just and fair to all.
Faculty members and students focus on educational issues in such areas as: multicultural approaches towards nurturing citizenship; exclusion and marginalization based on class, origin, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, and ability; civic participation and self-motivated learning.
